New Year, New Healthy You

New year, new healthy you! Is eating clean your new year's resolution for 2017? Start working towards that now. The sooner you act on this goal, the better results you'll achieve. Here are a few simple and effective ways to improve the new you.

1. You are what you eat. Accomplish your healthy new year's resolution by cutting off all the junk in your diet. Replace those unhealthy cravings with carrots and celery - your body will thank you in no time! Salmon, almonds, spinach and broccoli are one of the few healthy and brain-boosting foods you can introduce to your diet.

2. Drink less coffee. We know that projects and deadlines are right around the corner, but grabbing that 4th cup of coffee will just set you up for a crash. The key diet that will provide lasting energy is one that's rich in protein, fiber, and complex carbohydrates.

3. Balance. Was 2016 a stressful year for you? All of that tension turns into knots in your muscles. Get rid of them by practicing some yoga - this will relax both your mind and body. Perhaps a successful head stand can be your resolution for the next year!

4. Start meditating! There's no need to add further stress to your mind and body this year. Control your breathing and clear your head. Even 10-15 minutes of meditation at the workplace will do!

5. Last but not least, sleep. Too many of us don't get enough rest and that lack of sleep disrupts your brain and body more than you would know. It is important to get the right amount of rejuvenation. Time for that siesta! Side note: no matter how wrinkle-free your Tahaanga dress shirt may be, we don't recommend sleeping in it though!

Stay healthy!

Last Minute New Year's Eve Plans Around The World

This year has been one crazy ride, and it should be no surprise that it'll be ending that way too. If deadlines are coming up and you haven't got time to plan out your last day of 2016, here are a couple of last minute ideas that will ensure you a great time, wherever you are in the world:

New York City

If you live in NYC, there's no reason to worry about not having anything to do on the last day of the year. From fancy black-tie galas, to classical concerts, to indoor rooftop parties - you have it all.  Enter and fall back in time to 1920's French nightlife at the 'Parisian Follies' event at Grand Prospect Hall. Think Folies Bergère, Moulin Rouge, and the glorious Casino de Paris. You might be lucky enough to still be able to get tickets here. Or if you prefer a more low-key environment, host a last-minute New Year's Eve party at home for your closest buds with a few bottles of champagne and live stream the ball drop from your TV.

London

Visiting family and friends in London this year? The fireworks display surely should not be missed. By now, tickets would've already sold out, so finding a decent vantage point to watch the fireworks is your best option. Try out either Vauxhall Bridge, Tower Bridge, Southwark Bridge and Millennium Bridge for a close up view. The city's hills such as Hampstead Heath or Primrose Hill offer spectacular views. Head out to Alexandra Palace if you don't mind being further out. If you're looking for last minute parties and events to attend, check them out here.

Hong Kong

If you're journeying to HK this year, the vibrant nightlife would not disappoint you when it comes to New Year's Eve. Perhaps start the countdown by going on a Victoria Harbour cruise with a gorgeous view of the city's skyline - away from the maddening crowd - and finish off by popping champagne right underneath the fireworks. Boat tickets can be found here, and this includes live performances, an all-you-can-drink bar, a lucky draw and even fortune telling! Not sure what to wear? Try Tahaanga's moisture-wicking and odor resistant shirt that will make you feel dry and cool while looking classy all night long in the humid HK weather. If you're looking for something more "high" class, head to Ozone on the 118thfloor of The Ritz-Carlton.

Sydney

It's summertime in Australia - time to pull out your BBQ grill! The country's biggest firework show will be on display at the Sydney Harbour, so head there early if you can. The best part about the display is that it begins at 9pm (with another one at midnight), meaning your kids can enjoy it too! For a more family-friendly setting, head to Parramatta - kids will love the rides and games throughout the night. Last but not least, don't forget about the beaches - it is summer afterall, and there's nothing like watching colorful fireworks in the sky from the sand, listening to it drown out the sounds of waves.

The last day of the year should be spent with the most important people in your life. Wherever you are in the world, the Tahaanga team wishes you a wonderful and prosperous 2017! Thank you for all the support throughout the year!

Getting Through The Holidays Sans Stress

It's that time of the year again. Crowds, long lines, waiting in the cold... The holiday season can easily be the most stressful season of the year. But don't sweat it - we're here to guide you through the toughest times! Here are some ways you can get through the holidays without stress:

Dealing With Gifts

Searching for the perfect present but overloaded with work? Instead of rummaging through aisles looking for those shoes your S.O. hinted about, why not opt for online shopping? Make your browsing time shorter by cleverly using the filter option, and have your gifts delivered right to your door (and wrapped too!). Looking for a gift that's classic yet innovative? Being the Perfect Party Host

Mulled wine, egg nog, classic tunes and gingerbread cookies. Nothing like enjoying a good old holiday party - except when you're the host. Taking care of 30 people can be really pressuring, but all it takes is organization. Always plan ahead; keep a planner nearby at all times; and have lots of help (A.K.A Santa's helpers). Now, relax, celebrate, and dance in your sweat-proof dress shirt!

Being the Loveliest Parent

There are times when we feel like we haven't been the greatest parents to our children - we've all been there. But for this holiday season, that can change. Now that they're going to be home more often, get your kids busy by making them help you out with easy DIY decorations. They're going to enjoy it as much as you do! If you're getting the symptoms of cabin fever, head out to your local holiday market and explore the colorful wonders this time of the year can offer. Spread the love and enjoy that cup of apple cider - you deserve it!

Now you've got nothing to stress about. Keep calm, eat, drink, and be merry!
